Consultation for BCBAs
Bridging Child-Focused Training and Adult Practice
Most BCBAs are trained in and spend their careers working almost exclusively with children. Adult services require a different lens entirely. Different communication histories, different ethical considerations, and a different relationship to autonomy and dignity. Few practitioners receive this training, and even fewer specialize in it.

This service includes:
-
One-on-one or small group consultation for BCBAs new to adult services
-
Training on ethical considerations specific to working with adults, including autonomy, consent, human rights considerations, and dignity
-
Guidance on adapting child-focused clinical skills to adult environments
-
Ongoing mentorship and case consultation
We meet people where they are, and that includes the BCBAs we train. Many practitioners want to do this work well, but were simply never taught how. Dignity comes first in this work, too. Teaching another clinician to see an adult as an adult, not as a bigger version of a child client, is foundational to everything we teach. And since real understanding takes time and attention, we do not hand BCBAs a generic checklist. We walk alongside them the same way we walk alongside families and teams.
